Justin Hutchinson worked with Cosh Living through its in-house brand Kett to bring a signature Australian identity to the market in the Otway dining setting.
The Armchair is characterised by the curvilinear form that compliments the human body. The smooth and rounded solid ash legs create an intersection that cradles the seat whilst offering an elegant and structurally sound design. Otway combines fine woodworking with modern production, creating a signature piece of designer indoor furniture for the home or workplace.
Each crafted timber part of the Otway Armchair is paired to make up the greater whole, no part is more or less important, each fulfils a role ensuring a strong and sturdy design that can perform for a lifetime. The use of steam to bend the timber arms and back support provides an efficiency of material use whilst the curve embraces the sitter and anchors the four turned legs seamlessly into the surrounding form.
The seat and back cushions are upholstered locally in a soft leather or fabric of your choice providing the precise amount of comfort which supports the body as it moves back into the seat. Quality leather will age gracefully over time to evoke stories of gatherings and celebrations that were enjoyed by one and all.
The Otway solid dining table is defined by its soft timber profile and elegant proportions. Inspired by time spent exploring the understory of the giant forests of Cape Otway, this timeless design has enduring quality as the result of its simplified complexity.
The timber for every table is carefully sourced, methodically measured and defined by the hands of a true craftsperson.
