Clay Furniture

Clay Furniture

Atelier Vierkant presented the Heritage collection in Milan at Salone del Mobile.

By introducing clay into the realm of outdoor furniture, they are enhancing the use of a material that humans have been connecting with ever since ancient times.

Clay Heritage returns in the round-shaped bathtubs, the complex body of the stone series, coffee tables, low plates, pebble stools, vases, pots and larger vessels. The beautiful imperfections of each shape and hand-crafted piece make it unique.

Working with clay, letting the rough materials run through their hands, sculpting and creating ... Atelier Vierkant artisans experience a sense of home through these actions. ‘Heimweh’, a German word without an exact translation in English, indicates nostalgia and the sense of missing home. We all often forget the difference between ‘knowing something about a place’ and ‘actually being there’ and experiencing the environment with all of our senses. Home is defined as a place we belong, a place we can connect with, a place that is ours, a place where we live, work, and spend time with our family and friends. We feel at home in the place where we can connect with our Heritage and revive the memories of our ancestors.

New designs have been materialised in colour experimentation, daring shapes and new decorative patterns as well as textures. From the long, thin cylindrical shapes of CD and CC to the slanted lines of FG pots and unique shape of CS, the Atelier Vierkant Kaseholm collection is thought to have a unique impact on the surrounding environment - not just by enriching it but also standing out as masterpieces of the art of pottery.
