There is something enticing about coastal living that is unequivocally embodied throughout this home. Located on the Eastern edge of Australia in Whale Beach Sydney, this modern beach house is a beacon of creativity and innovation.
Exploring geometry and organic inspiration in architectural design.
This home celebrates linearity in all its forms. Encapsulated by forceful concrete, natural hardwood and zinc cladding this home is safeguarded from the elements. Its geometric exterior is designed to challenge the organic shapes that are formed from the waves that crash the nearby shoreline. It is these organic shapes that become the place of inspiration for the curvaceous forms ever present throughout the home. Despite the structured designed of the exterior, the interior is abundant in light that reflects onto the soft shapes that fill each space.
Expansive views and coastal elegance in every frame.
Copious and expansive are what comes to mind when describing the framed waterfront views offered up by the home. The watery colour palette of the interior spaces have taken cues from its immediate surroundings. Ocean blues and natural timbers is what elevates this residential property to a luxurious beachside home.
Seamlessly integrating outdoor living with modern design.
The creatives on this project effortlessly executed the clients brief in which they requested a home to accommodate many lifestyles modes. The homeowners prioritised the need for an outdoor space that would house large gatherings and encourage outdoor entertainment. To create a larger outdoor terrace the upper two floors are tapered to one side of the house. Centrally positioned on the balcony, sits our Addis Teak Table and Wye Chairs by Kett. The flow of lines that define the Wye chairs are the seamless intersection between the geometric natural hardwood that lines the homes exterior and the natural edge of water that laps the beach. Continuing the natural palette, the Addis Teak Table was the perfect addition to this home. Making reference to the sandy colours of the foreshore this home and its surrounds become one in the same.

Embodying Kett's values in the Whale Beach residence, an ode to Australian living.
Core design elements in this project are direct parallels to the values of the Kett brand. Whale Beach is a perfect representation of how the story of place and the connection of exterior to the interior should be executed. We are proud to have been a part of a project that truly celebrates an Australian way of life.
