Cape Schanck

MORNINGTON PENINSULA, VICTORIA

Architect: Rod Hannah Design Group

Interiors: Cantilever

Photographer: Martina Gemmola

The Cape Schanck Home rests atop Gunnamatta Beach, encapsulated by native teatree scrub. The beauty of the landscape was truly the muse for this project, bought to life by architects Rod Hannah Design Group and Cantilever Interiors. A truly Victorian narrative, this contemporary Australian home celebrates coastal living and it’s a project that Kett is proud to have contributed to.

This home tells a story between the owner and the surrounding landscape

Walking into the home, you are greeted with floor to ceiling windows with sweeping views where farm meets coastline. The vision for this home was a vessel for connection with the immediate landscape and a home that aged slowly and gracefully. Cantilever Interiors endeavoured to continue the Australian narrative of the space by focusing on furniture designed and made in Australia, and looked no further than Kett.

Celebrating a connection between place & Australian Made Furniture

The Cape Schanck Home features a range of Kett’s Australian collections designed by Justin Hutchinson. Kett draws inspiration from Victorian coastlines, defined by the distinctive colour, shape and forms of this region. In this way, the furniture featured in Cape Schanck speaks directly to the landscape around it, the curves, form and palette in gentle and familiar conversation.
