Alba Thermal Springs

Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

Photographer: Eloise Sim

Nestled within the landscape of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Alba Thermal Springs is envisioned as a serene retreat, one where architecture, wellness and nature are thoughtfully interwoven. The experience unfolds slowly, encouraging guests to step away from the everyday and reconnect with their surroundings through calm, open-air spaces. Outdoor furniture from Kett and Tribù was chosen for the outdoor spaces, showcasing how their durable and minimalist designs complement this architectural landscape.

Outdoor Living in Harmony

The outdoor environments play a central role in shaping this sense of ease. Poolside and garden settings are carefully composed to feel both expansive and intimate, allowing guests to move seamlessly between water, landscape and rest. Each space is designed to support moments of stillness, whether reclining beside the pools or gathering quietly in conversation.

A Considered Furniture Selection

Furnishings were selected with a restrained approach, favouring pieces that enhance the environment rather than dominate it. The Wye armchairs by Kett create intimate settings around the Branch bistro tables, while by the main pool, the Branch loungers and Drop tables by Tribù are displayed in a row. The slimline profiles and organic flow of each design complement the surroundings without dominating the outdoor spaces. Together, they form a cohesive collection that reflects the project’s emphasis on simplicity, comfort and longevity.

Charcoal Wenge Finish

Finished in a charcoal wenge tone, each piece brings depth and balance to the outdoor setting. The grounded colour works in harmony with pale stone, soft planting and reflective water, creating a subtle contrast that gives the spaces a composed and considered presence.

Comfort Shaped by Design

Beyond aesthetics, the furniture supports the physical experience of relaxation. Ergonomic forms, generous proportions and durable materials ensure comfort throughout the day, allowing guests to linger without distraction. Pieces were also chosen for the project for their durability. Fabrics and finishes on all the pieces can withstand the various outdoor elements as well as long heavy use from customers throughout the year.
