Killarney Heights

In Sydney's Killarney heights, a home has been beautifully transformed by Angela Neylon of Joanne Green Landscape and Interior.

The clients engaged Angela to create 'a warm, inviting and functional semi-formal living room which they could use for entertaining friends and family'.  Another core part of the brief was a home office space (which would later become more treasured than ever, with 2020 'Work From Home' lockdowns!).

"My intention for this project was to create spaces that delivered practical solutions in a sophisticated manner." says Angela. "I wanted the design to be non-fussy, using natural textures to inspire a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Warm finishes were used to complement the existing travertine flooring in the living room. Paired with a deep blue rug, woven linen sofas and fresh contemporary artwork, we produced a layered, warm, and inviting space. Perfect for entertaining or relaxing by the fire on a Saturday night."

Angela included core pieces from our Kett range designed by Justin Hutchinson, selecting those with a modern silhouette and gentle, natural tones.

This project illustrates the work of a thoughtful, experienced designer. Not only does the space deliver on a promise of warmth, but Angela combines oaky, light timbers with warm, rich ones - which is famously hard to achieve with a cohesive style. Angela weaves them together expertly, and introduces modern, minimal accessories. Styled with contemporary artworks that reference the beautiful harbour beyond the walls, this Killarney heights home has soul and a sense of place - and we can't wait to see more from Angela.
