Located an hour from Melbourne in Victoria's Yarra Valley, the Gruyere farmhouse is a recently completed project by Rachcoff Vella Architects. In collaboration with Cosh Living, this project exemplifies harmonious coexistence between architecture and nature, showcasing incredible possibilities when design embraces its surroundings.

The design emphasises a strong connection to the ubiquitous Yarra Ranges.

The undulating and dancing pitched roof forms, directly inspired by the silhouette of the mountain range to the North, create a meaningful dialogue with the natural context on both a micro and macro scale.

Embracing warm timbers, exposed bricks, and black accents, the interior exudes a contemporary Australian style.

The Gruyere farmhouse's inherent connection to the landscape provided an ideal opportunity to integrate furniture embodying the same narrative. Through tones, textures, organic shapes, and quality materials, Kett’s latest releases—Portland, Feathertop, and Johanna highback chairs—effortlessly harmonise with the interior’s surroundings.

 

Harmony in Collaboration

Furnished with Kett pieces in both indoor and outdoor spaces this collaborative project successfully forged an environment that seamlessly blends with the awe-inspiring views of the Yarra Valley landscape.
